Officially time to get an Officiant!

Writer: dayofvowsdayofvows

An officiant sets the whole mood for the wedding. You can interview professional officiants for your Day of Vows, choose someone within your religion or you can ask someone you know to marry you. YES! You can have someone that knows you actually marry you! Here's how...

  1. They become a marriage officiant online. It is super easy!

  2. In the County you are going to officiate the wedding, submit your ordination certificate or minister license and follow their protocols.

  3. The couple applies and picks up the marriage license within 30 days and no less than 3 days before the Day of Vows.

  4. After the ceremony you complete the license and file the paperwork! Thats it!

I have to say, having one of our best friends marry us was truly amazing. He knew us better than anyone, made us laugh and cry and loved having the honor of being by our side on our big day! Thanks Tom!

I also filmed a wedding where the brides father officiated the ceremony and there was not a dry eye in the room. So sentimental and sweet. Congrats again Scott and Tiffany!

Fun Fact: I became an officiant just in case one is ever needed in an emergency at a wedding I am filming. Yes, your videographer can step in and save the day in case of an emergency.
